Coming into tonight’s action the New York Islanders are trying to bounce back after a disappointing game versus the Buffalo Sabers in the last contest, coming up short in a shootout over the Sabers on Saturday afternoon. Coming into this evening’s action, the New York Islanders are coming off of a win in their previous game on Tuesday night over the Tampa Bay Lightning. They will look to build off their momentum when they take on their former teammate in Brock Nelson and Colorado Avalanche, it is the first time back at UBS Arena for Brock Nelson since the New York Islanders traded Brock to Colorado during last year’s NHL trade deadline. Nelson who was a New York Islander for the first 10 ½ years of his career, I believe he will get a standing ovation tonight, along with a video tribute. It will be interesting to see how the home crowd receives him tonight.
