Good morning
New York Islanders fans, this is your favorite sports reporter bringing you a
preview of tonight’s game between the New York Islanders and the Pittsburgh
Penguins live from UBS Arena in Elmont NY. Coming into this evening’s action,
the New York Islanders are currently sitting in second place in the
Metropolitan Division standings with a record of 42 victories, 27 defeats and 5
overtime defeats which put them at 89 points. Meanwhile on the other side of
the ice, the Pittsburgh Penguins enter tonight’s contest with a record of 36
victories, 21 defeats and 16 Overtime defeats for a grand total 88 points,
which puts them in 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division standings,
just one point behind the New York Islanders. This is why tonight’s game is so
crucial for both teams! Some key matchups that I will be keeping an eye on
tonight include Anders Lee versus Bryan Rust and Erik Karlsson versus Matthew
Schaefer. I will be interested to see what the crowd is like tonight. Luckily I
will get a front row seat to the action tonight since I am working the game LOL.
You can come find me at the bottom of the Great Hall steps and say hi I won’t
bite LOL! The Islanders will need to put in a complete 60-minute effort if they
want to come away with the two points tonight since the NHL standings are ever
changing. One minute you could be in the playoffs and the next minute you could
be out, that’s how tight the standing this year. Well, that’s all right now. You
can catch the game at 7:00 PM On MSG Plus with my friends Brandon Burke, Butch Goring,
and Shannon Hogan on The Call. Let’s go Islanders. Bring home a big win and a
big point. This has been Mr. Hockey. Until next time, enjoy the beautiful
weather. Peace out!
