The New York Islanders travel to Vancouver British Columbia to take the Canucks tonight from the Rogers Centre

Good morning New York Islander fans, this is your favorite sports reporter coming to you from my house on this sunny but cold day, after we had a bit of a winter Wonderland yesterday with all the snow! The New York Islanders are still on their seven-game road trip, which now takes them to Vancouver, British Columbia to take on the Vancouver Canucks. The orange and blue are trying to bounce back after a very disappointing defeat against the Calvary Flames the other day, coming up short with a final score of 4 to 2. The only bright side that this reporter could see in their previous game was Anders Lee scoring his 300^th NHL goal of his career. The New York Islanders will need a better team effort from the top to the bottom to get two points against the bottom feeders of the Western Conference in the Canucks. The Islanders are still sitting comfortably in 2^nd place  in the playoffs with a record of 26 victories, 17 defeats and 5 overtime defeats. On the other side of the ice the Vancouver Canucks have a record of 17 victories, 26 losses and 5 overtime defeats for a grand total of 37 points this season. The Vancouver Canucks have already started selling off key pieces of their team most notably Quinn Hughes. I will be interested to see who they sell off next with the trading deadline only a couple weeks away. Now let’s turn our attention to the game at hand this evening. Coming into this afternoon action at the Saddledome in Calgary Alberta Canada the New York Islanders are coming off of a very impressive shut down Victory over the Edmonton Oilers One to nothing in their previous contest, where Anthony Duclair came up with the game winner and Mr. Sorokin came up with the shutout to secure New York’s 26^th victory of the season. The Orange and Blue Now I have a record of twenty-six victories 16 defeats and 5 overtime defeats for a grand total of 57 points they are still in second place in the Metropolitan Division only behind the Carolina Hurricanes in the standings. Meanwhile it has been a massive struggle for the Calgary Flames the flames are sitting in seventh place in the Pacific Division with a record of 20 victories 23 defeats and 4 overtime defeats for a grand total of 44 points in the standings. Latest MLB free agency news for the 2025 MLB season

 

Good morning MLB fans this is your favorite sports reporter bringing you the latest free agency news from around the MLB. The latest big fish to come off the board this season is the much anticipated Kyle Tucker, who signed a four year contract with the LA Dodgers worth about $240 million. There were other big moves including Sunny Gray getting traded to the Boston Red Sox, and Rangers Suarez signing a five year contract with the Red Sox worth about $130,000,000 per year. Let’s not forget about Pete Alonzo who signed a five year contract with the Baltimore Orioles Worth about$155 million per year.  Don’t think I haven’t forgotten about the local teams the New York Mets signed Devin Williams to a three year contract for about $51 million per year. The New York Mets also fell short on resigning Edwin Diaz who eventually got a three year deal from the evil empire in the LA Dodgers worth $69 million per year, and now let’s transition to the Yankees-- they acquired Ryan Weathers from the Miami Marlins in exchange for 3 prospects. This should help out the Yankees starting rotation with Gerrit Cole who is on the shelf recovering from Tommy John surgery he had last year.
