Good morning, New York
Knicks fans, this is your favorite sport reporter coming to you from my house
on this overcast day bringing you all the latest information on your New York
Knicks ahead of their first round match up against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Coming into tonight’s action at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks are trying to
build off a phenomenal NBA regular season where they had the second-best record
in the Eastern Conference with a record of 50 victories and only 32 defeats. The
Knickerbockers got an MVP type season from point guard Jalen Brunson, who
carried the team all year long, averaging about 32 points per game this season.
Mid-season acquisition OG Anunoby has fit in perfectly, especially with his defensive
prowess. Josh Hart, Dante Divincenzo, and Isaiah “block party” Hartenstein will
have to lead the way in rebounding, 3-point shooting, and blocking shots.
As for
the 76ers, they had to scratch and claw late in the season just to make the postseason,
due to a significant injury to MVP candidate Joel Embiid. He is back, but
clearly not at 100%, which should bode well for the Knicks. Also, they will
have to deal with Tyrese Maxey, an upcoming superstar, who has been the shot in
the arm that the 76ers needed. They are not your typical 7-seed, and the Knicks
cannot overlook them.
This is
the first playoff meeting between these two rivals since 1989. It should be an intense
battle, and hopefully the Knicks will come out on top. Game 1 is tonight, at
6pm on ESPN. GO NEW YORK GO NEW YORK GO!!!!!
