Hello
there New York Islander fans, this is your favorite sports reporter coming to
you from my house on this chilly but sunny day bringing you a preview of the
Columbus Bluejackets vs New York Islanders game tonight from Nationwide Arena.
Coming into tonight’s action, the New York Islanders are coming off of a
victory over the Montreal Canadians on Wednesday night. The New York Islanders
had to come from behind to earn the victory. The Islanders were down 2 to
nothing midway through the second. When the young superstar in Matthew Schaefer
scored his 17th and 18th goals of the season breaking a
tie with Phil Housley for the most goals scored by a rookie in his first year
with the team, with JG Pageau scoring the game winner in overtime Giving the
Islanders 71 points this season so far! Their record is now 33 victories 21
defeats and 5 Overtime defeats for a grand total of 71 points which put them in
3rd place in the Metropolitan Division standings. Now let’s turn our
focus to the Islanders’ next opponents in the Columbus Bluejackets. The Bluejackets
are coming to tonight’s action with a record of 29 victories, 21 defeats and 7 overtime
defeats for a grand total of 65 points, which put them in 5th place
in the Metropolitan standing. Some key players that I will be keeping an eye on
for tonight’s game include the aforementioned Matthew Schaefer versus Zack Werenski
and Bo Horvat Versus Adam Fantilli. It should be an interesting game. Let’s see
if the orange and blue can keep up their momentum and ride this wave all the
way to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Go New York Go New York Go! I hope you enjoy
the game tonight. You can catch all the action beginning at 6:00 PM on on MSG
Plus with my friends Shannon Hogan and Brendan Burke on The Call. Thanks for
reading Let me know what you guys think and stay warm everyone.
