Yankees push for a playoff spot

Hello there Yankee fans!

I am coming to you live from Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri where the New York Yankees are battling the Kansas City Royals for one of the two wild card spots. The Yanks currently sit three and a half games back of the Baltimore Orioles. They put up a fight last night but fell just short of winning. Tonight, the Yankees look to rebound and tie up the series at one game a piece. They are looking for a good pitching performance from Masahiro Tanaka while the Royals will counter with Edison Volquez. Hopefully Tanaka will have a strong showing proving to be the ace of the Yankees' pitching staff. Furthermore I believe the Yankees' offense will come to play tonight in a big way. Well that is all for now, reporting live from Kansas City, Missouri, this has been Mr. Lightening. Thanks for reading. Let's Go Yankees!

A-Rod's Final Game as a New York Yankee

Hello there, New York Yankees' fans,

I am coming to you live from Yankee Stadium where the New York Yankees open a 3 game set against Evan Longoria and the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yanks are coming into tonight's game after a win against the Boston Red Sox. They find themselves three and a half games out of the second wild card spot. With this late surge, the Yankees are giving their fans a reason to believe they can still make the postseason. This comes after the departures of big superstars, such as Andrew Miller and Carlos Beltran. Another looming departure is the retirement of the 14-time All-Star, Alex Rodriguez. Over the past couple days there has been tension between Yankee manager Joe Girardi and A-Rod concerning the slugger's playing time. It was first reported on August 7 that Alex would be released after tonight's game and serve as special team advisor. Hopefully, tonight's game will send Alex off with a bang. Well, that's all for now. Reporting live from Yankee Stadium, this has been Mr. Lightning. Thanks for reading. Let's go Yankees!

P.S. You can catch tonight's game at 7:00 EST on The YES Network
