Islanders come back from the X Mas break to take on the Ottawa Senators

Hello there New york Islander fans, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!!!! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday break!! The Islanders are coming back from their 4 day Xmas break to take on the Ottawa Senators tomorrow evening at 7pm et live from the Barclay Center. The Islanders come into tomorrows action with a record of 18-13-4 with 40 points. While the Senators come into this matchup with a record of 15-18-4 and 34 points. The islanders are coming off of a 3 and 1 road trip beating the Dallas Stars most recently. While the Senators are coming off a loss to the Washington Capitals. But let's focus on this game.  The Islanders young talent has been showing much promise here in the early stages of this young season. Some of the young standouts include, Anthony B., Anders Lee and Matt Barzel. I know this sounds like it could result in an easy win, but there are no easy wins in this league and the Senators are not to be taken lightly. Ottawa has some talented players such as Matt Duchenne, Mark Stone and  Craig Andersen. Now that we've talked a little about the talent on each side, lets talk about the goaltending for tomorrows matchup. I believe that Craig Andersen will get the start for Ottawa, Andersen comes into tomorrows matchup with a record of 13-14-3 with a GAA of 3.5 and a save % of .991, while Thomas Greiss has a record of 12-7-1 and carries a save % of .920 and a GAA of 2.53. Let's hope the Islanders can put a couple past Craig Andersen tomorrow. i know we're all looking forward to see how this young team responds after a 4 day lay off, Let's go Isles, bring home the W tomorrow. You can catch all of the heart pounding action tomorrow at 7 pm et on MSG+. GOOO Islanders!!!!!

The New York Islanders Travel to Denver, Colorado to Begin a 3 Game West Coast Road Trip

Hello, New York Islanders fans! Sorry for the long wait. I am back, bringing you all your New York Islanders news from the last two days. The New York Islanders have been having a couple of up and down weeks. They are currently 4thin the Metropolitan division with a record of 15 wins, 12 losses, and 4 overtime losses, for 34 points. The latest Islanders game happened last night at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where the Islanders defeated the Detroit Redwings in a shootout. The final score was 4-3. Now the team embarks on a three game West Coast trip starting with Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow night. Then, it’s off to Phoenix to battle the Coyotes and Clayton Keller, and Marc-Andre Fleury and the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Islanders power play has been struggling over the past couple of weeks. Hopefully we can put some pucks behind the Colorado net minder tomorrow. What I am looking forward to in this matchup tomorrow is seeing how Matt Barzal and Anders Lee and the rest of the Islanders handle Colorado’s high powered offense. Colorado comes into tomorrow evening’s action with a record of 18-9-6 and 42 points. Anders Lee for the Islanders has 11 goals this season and 12 assists. Matt Barzal also has 4 goals and 23 assists.

For the Avs, Nathan MacKinnon has 21 goals, 31 assists, and 52 points. Now, let’s turn our attention to the goalie matchup for tomorrow. I believe the goalie matchup will be Thomas Greiss for the Islanders and Semyon Varlamov for the Avalanche. Greiss comes into tomorrow’s action with a record of 11-6-1 and 2.59 GAA. On the opposite end of the ice, Varlamov has a record of 11-7-3 and 2.77 GAA. Hopefully, the Islanders can put 2 straight wins together and start this road trip off with a bang. You can catch all of tomorrow’s action on MSG Plus, beginning at 8:30pm, with Islanders Game Night leading you right into Islanders Avs at 9pm. Let’s go Islanders! Yes! Yes! Yes!
