Baseball Offseason Is Heating Up In New York

 Hello there everyone,

I am coming to you from my friend Kathleen's house on this overcast, potentially snowy day, bringing you the latest information from around New York Major League baseball.

As we all know, Yankee Nation had been waiting on the decision of one Aaron Judge. It came down to two teams. Would he go home to his native San Francisco or be committed to New York for what is likely the rest of his career?

It was falsely reported that Judge was headed to the Bay Area on Tuesday night, December 6th. After turning down a seven year  213.5 million dollar contract, he bet on himself and hit 62 home runs, breaking Roger Marist's American League single season home run record, later accepting a nine year 360 million dollar extension (average annual value: $40 million dollars! Give me and my friend Kathleen some of that money). The Yankees are also interested in bringing Carlos Correa and Carlos RĂ³don to the Bronx after losing Jameson Tallion to a 4 year, 68 million dollar contract with the Cubs.

Now, let's move on to the team in Queens. For most Mets fans, the offseason began even before the 2022 season was under way. When Jacob deGrom stated that he was going to opt out of his contract when the 2022 season ended, it rubbed many Mets fans the wrong way. Mets fans immediately jumped on deGrom, stating that if he doesn't want to be here, he shouldn't be. deGrom has made no more than 15 starts in each of the last two seasons due to nagging arm, shoulder, and elbow injuries.

But deGrom would like to get paid like the All Star pitcher he is. Who will that team be, willing to pay the big bucks?

Drumroll...we have a winner...the Texas Ranger signed the former National League ERA leader to a five year $185,000,000 contract, with an average annual salary of 37 million. The Mets had to pivot with the loss of deGrom, instead signing defending AL Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander to a two year 86.66 million dollar contract with a vesting option for 2025, according to reports.

Also signed are Jose Quintana, formerly of the Cardinals (2 years--26 million) and re-signed Brandon Nimmo (8 years--162 million). The Mets reached an agreement with Japanese ace Kodai Senga, offering 75 million over five years. Finally, former Yankee David Robertson will return to New York, this time going to Queens for a 1 year, 10 million dollar contract.

Will Steve Cohen's wallet be empty by the end of the offseason? LOL. We will have to wait and see.

The hot stove is cooled off for now, but I will keep you posted on the latest around the league.

Thanks for reading. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Hello there FIFA World Cup fans. I am coming to you from my house on this cold and rainy day bringing you the latest information oh team USA's soccer team. The US men’s soccer team is seeking its first ever FIFA World Cup win. Unbelievably, the US men soccer team has never won the FIFA World Cup. The US men's soccer team was first established in the year 1885. They are trying to reverse the curse that has haunted them since there first year of existence. But The US will face their toughest test, some say nearly impossible task, of beating the Netherlands. The Netherlands is ranked #8 in the 2022 FIFA World Cup standings while The US is ranked #16 in the standings. With The US men's team lead by Christian Pulisic the US men’s soccer team is looking to pull off a major upset by taking down the Netherlands on Saturday at 10 AM Eastern time. The New York Islanders travel north of the border to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs

Hello there New York Islander fans! I am coming to you from my house on this cold, wintery night bringing you the latest information from your favorite team! The Islanders wrap up their current 4 game road trip with and trip to the Scotiabank arena tonight when they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Islanders will be facing off against their former captain John Tavares, who was drafted by the Islanders in 2009 with the first overall pick. About 6 years ago, John Tavares left Long Island and returned home to Toronto where he is originally from. He couldn't resist the temptation of going home especially for a seven-year contract worth about 77,000,000. By the age of 35, he will be an unrestricted free agent by the year of the 2025-2026 season. The Islanders are looking to even their four game road trip with a record of 500. Hopefully Matthew Barzel and the Islanders can put some pucks behind Matt Murray and come home with two points. you can catch all of the heart pounding action tonight on channel MSG SN 2 starting at 7:30 PM Eastern Time channel 581 let's go Islanders yes yes yes this has been Mr. Islander signing off for now until next time New York Islander fans have a good night stay safe and healthy!

The 2022 World Series is Set

The 2022 World Series is Set

Hello there baseball fans! I am coming to you live from my house, on this cold and rainy day. I am going to bring you the latest information on all thing’s baseball. Looking forward to Friday’s action between the Houston Astros and the Philadelphia Phillies. The Houston Astros were chosen by many to represent the American League in this year’s World Series, but no one predicted, not even me, that the Philadelphia Phillies would make it to the World Series. To the surprise of many people the Phillies got hot at the right time, which goes to show you, anything can happen in baseball! With players like Alex Bregman for the Houston Astros, and Bryce Harper on opposing side of the baseball, it will be very interesting to see which of these two teams comes out on top! Will it be the Cinderella story for the Philadelphia Phillies or good old reliable Houston Astros. We will have to wait and see, but one thing I know for sure is that I am really looking forward to a great World Series. Well, that is all for now, this has been Mr. Baseball. Thanks for reading and enjoy the World Series everyone. Stay safe and healthy. I will talk to you soon.

Major League Baseball Kicks Off It’s’ Post Season

Hi Everyone. This your your favorite sports reporter coming to you live from Rising Treetops in Oarkhurst, New Jersey. Bringing you the latest information from the post Season MLB Playoffs.

Let’s kick things off with the Toronto Blue Jays v. Seattle Mariners. For the first game played yesterday, it was a bit of a shock to the Toronto Blue Jay fans when the Seattle Mariners stole the win with a a score of 4-0.

The Toronto Blue Jays will be looking to bounce back from their game 1 defeat.

Now let’s move onto the Tampa Bay Rays v. Cleveland Guardians series.  The Guardians fed off the home crowd advantage by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of 2-1. The Guardians will try to take a strangle hold on the series today  beginning at 12:07p.m. (est. time).

Finally, we come to the team from Queens; the New York Mets v. San Diego Padres. Unfortunately for the Mets, who were soundly defeated 7-1, the high powered San Diego offense was a bit too much to overcome. Hopefully luck will be on the Metropolitans side tonight when they try and save their season.

You can catch all the action tonight on ESPN or just keep it locked to ESPN radio for continuing coverage of MLB Post Season. That is all for tonight, folks.

Peace out-talk you guys and gals later. Thanks for reading.

Race for the MLB Post Season Heating Up For Both New York Teams

Hey everyone! Happy September! I am coming to you from my house as the MLB postseason push for both New York teams takes shape. Coming into today’s action, both the Yankees and the Mets are looking to further lengthen their lead in their respective divisions.

As of today, the Yankees stand at 79-54 while the Tampa Bay Rays are 74-57, 4 games behind the Yankees. The Yankees lost the first 2 games of their 3 game set with the Rays, meaning the winner of this division is far from determined, despite a tremendous start to the Yankees’ season. Aaron Judge is having a historic season. With 53 home runs, he is on pace to break Roger Maris’s American League home run record (61 home runs in 1961). I hope Judge breaks Maris’s home run record. Unfortunately for Yankee fans, Judge will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and 32 other teams will be bidding for his services. Judge turned down a contract extension rumored to be worth 213.5 million over 7 years or 30.4 million annually. He has proven to be worth that kind of money. There are rumors swirling that he may return to the Bay Area where he grew up.

Across town, the Mets are having a magical season of their own. With the return of Jacob deGrom and the signing of Max Scherzer to a 3 year, 130 million contract plus the resurgence of Edwin Diaz at the backend of the bullpen, the Mets stand at 85-49…and they look unstoppable. But don’t count out the defending World Series champs, the Atlanta Braves, who are just 2 games out of first place. Hopefully the Mets and the Polar Bear can hold off the defending champions. That’s all for now! Thanks for reading and let’s go New York teams!

Avalanche Try To Close Out Two Time Defending Stanley Cup Champion Lightning Tonight

Good afternoon hockey fans! I am coming to you with my friend Kathleen from the Floral Park Rec Center on this hot but beautiful day in Floral Park, NY. While in Tampa Bay this evening the Colorado Avalanche play Game 6 against the back-to-back defending Stanley Cup champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Colorado is trying to win its first Cup since 2001 when Peter Forbserg, Patrick Roy, and Joe Sakic took home the title. Now 21 years later, the likes of Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog, and Nazem Kadri try to build their own legacy.

Now let’s turn our attention to the reigning champions, the Lightning. The Lightning are trying to build a dynasty by becoming the first three time consecutive Cup winner since the New York Islanders in the late 80s.

That team boasted Billy Smith, Bryan Trottier, and the late Mike Bossy. With the likes of Andrei Vasilevskiy, Nikita Kucherov, and Steven Stamkos, this team will back down without a fight. But I think Colorado has too much fire power to handle. So my prediction is Colorado wins the Cup tonight 3-2 in overtime to crown a 2022 champion. You can catch all the action tonight at 8pm on ABC or streaming on ESPN+. Enjoy the hockey everyone!

I am going to camp so I will see you in a couple weeks!

NBA Finals Preview

Hello there, basketball fans!  I am coming to you from the Floral Park Rec Center on this beautiful day with my friend Kathleen. I am sorry than I have not written in a long time. I have a new job opportunity but now I’m back with the latest from the NBA! I am going to give you my prediction for Game 7 tonight (Miami vs Boston at 8:30pm on ABC).

First, let’s deal with Game 7 of the Eastern Conference. Coming into tonight’s winner take all Game 7, it has been a back and forth series with neither team willing to give an inch. In the previous game, Jimmy Butler scored 47 points on 16 of 29 shots attempted.

On the other hand, Jason Tatum, the young star on the Boston Celtics is averaging about 23 points per game in this series. However, Miami has home court advantage in this pivotal Game 7.

Now, my prediction for tonight’s Eastern Conference final is a Miami victory, feeding off the home crowd’s energy! It should be a good game tonight. You can catch all the high-flying action tonight on ABC with Mark Jones, who is filling in for Mike Breen.

With the NBA Finals scheduled for June 2 and a healthy Steph Curry and Klay Thompson back in the fold, I predict the Golden State Warriors will win in 6 games.

MLB is coming back on April 7th

Hello there my friends, this is your favorite sports reporter coming to you from my house bringing you all the latest information regarding the start of the 2022 MLB regular season. Yes, baseball is finally coming back!

It took some bargaining by the MLB players and team representatives, but the two sides have finally managed to figure out their differences. Now we can officially start baseball season, which I am really looking forward to! I will be interested to see where players like Freddie Freeman, Trevor Story, and Carlos Correa end up as they all are currently free agents. I will also be watching the New York teams very closely to see whether both teams make any more significant changes to help with their roster’s construction. Should be an interesting offseason.

Buckle up baseball fans it all begins for real on April 7th. Can't wait to see what this season has to offer! Well, that is all for now, this has been Mr. Baseball. Thanks for reading, stay safe and healthy.

BREAKING NEWS: the New York Mets acquired ace starting pitcher Chris Bassett from the Oakland Athletics for two minor league prospects.
