Islanders come back from the X Mas break to take on the Ottawa Senators

Hello there New york Islander fans, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!!!! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday break!! The Islanders are coming back from their 4 day Xmas break to take on the Ottawa Senators tomorrow evening at 7pm et live from the Barclay Center. The Islanders come into tomorrows action with a record of 18-13-4 with 40 points. While the Senators come into this matchup with a record of 15-18-4 and 34 points. The islanders are coming off of a 3 and 1 road trip beating the Dallas Stars most recently. While the Senators are coming off a loss to the Washington Capitals. But let's focus on this game.  The Islanders young talent has been showing much promise here in the early stages of this young season. Some of the young standouts include, Anthony B., Anders Lee and Matt Barzel. I know this sounds like it could result in an easy win, but there are no easy wins in this league and the Senators are not to be taken lightly. Ottawa has some talented players such as Matt Duchenne, Mark Stone and  Craig Andersen. Now that we've talked a little about the talent on each side, lets talk about the goaltending for tomorrows matchup. I believe that Craig Andersen will get the start for Ottawa, Andersen comes into tomorrows matchup with a record of 13-14-3 with a GAA of 3.5 and a save % of .991, while Thomas Greiss has a record of 12-7-1 and carries a save % of .920 and a GAA of 2.53. Let's hope the Islanders can put a couple past Craig Andersen tomorrow. i know we're all looking forward to see how this young team responds after a 4 day lay off, Let's go Isles, bring home the W tomorrow. You can catch all of the heart pounding action tomorrow at 7 pm et on MSG+. GOOO Islanders!!!!!

The New York Islanders Travel to Denver, Colorado to Begin a 3 Game West Coast Road Trip

Hello, New York Islanders fans! Sorry for the long wait. I am back, bringing you all your New York Islanders news from the last two days. The New York Islanders have been having a couple of up and down weeks. They are currently 4thin the Metropolitan division with a record of 15 wins, 12 losses, and 4 overtime losses, for 34 points. The latest Islanders game happened last night at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where the Islanders defeated the Detroit Redwings in a shootout. The final score was 4-3. Now the team embarks on a three game West Coast trip starting with Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow night. Then, it’s off to Phoenix to battle the Coyotes and Clayton Keller, and Marc-Andre Fleury and the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Islanders power play has been struggling over the past couple of weeks. Hopefully we can put some pucks behind the Colorado net minder tomorrow. What I am looking forward to in this matchup tomorrow is seeing how Matt Barzal and Anders Lee and the rest of the Islanders handle Colorado’s high powered offense. Colorado comes into tomorrow evening’s action with a record of 18-9-6 and 42 points. Anders Lee for the Islanders has 11 goals this season and 12 assists. Matt Barzal also has 4 goals and 23 assists.

For the Avs, Nathan MacKinnon has 21 goals, 31 assists, and 52 points. Now, let’s turn our attention to the goalie matchup for tomorrow. I believe the goalie matchup will be Thomas Greiss for the Islanders and Semyon Varlamov for the Avalanche. Greiss comes into tomorrow’s action with a record of 11-6-1 and 2.59 GAA. On the opposite end of the ice, Varlamov has a record of 11-7-3 and 2.77 GAA. Hopefully, the Islanders can put 2 straight wins together and start this road trip off with a bang. You can catch all of tomorrow’s action on MSG Plus, beginning at 8:30pm, with Islanders Game Night leading you right into Islanders Avs at 9pm. Let’s go Islanders! Yes! Yes! Yes!

Islanders Young Rookies Battle Sidney Crosby and the Penguins

Hello there New York Islander fans, I am coming to you live from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where the New York Islanders get set to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins.  The matchup is set for tomorrow October, 30th, 2018 at 7pm.  Coming into tomorrows action vs. the Pens the Isles are riding a 2 game winning streak and feeling awfully good about themselves.  After coming off back to back wins against the Flyers and the Hurricanes.  Through 10 games the Islanders new coaching staff seem to have gotten the young core of the isles to buy into their new coaching style.  Anders Lee has seemed to take the coaching advice to heart, he has been on fire as of late, contributing multiple points in back to back games.  As well, the young guys are progressing faster than we thought and are producing when it matters most.

Now let's turn our attention to the Islanders next opponent in the ever dangerous Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby along with the rest of the Penguins.  Coming into tomorrows matchup with the Isles, the Penguins sit atop of the Metropolitan division with a record of 6 wins 1 loss to go with a pair of overtime losses amounting to 14 points.  Hopefully the islanders can slow down this high powered Penguin offense.

I am really looking forward to the action tomorrow night, I would not be surprised if it is a tight contest tomorrow, I am not making any predictions, but what I will tell u is that I will be on the edge of my seat all night long rooting on the Isles!!! We have unconfirmed repots that the starting goalies and Robin Lehner and Matt Murray.  Coming into tomorrows goalie  matchup Robin Lehner has a record of 3 and 2, with a save % of 0.929%. While Matt Murray sports a 4 and 1 record and 0.91 save %.  Hopefully, the isles can put a couple past Matt Murray and come up with a 3rd strait win.  You can catch all of tomorrows action at 7pm on MSG +!!
PS Lets Go ISLANDER!!! YES YES YES!! Bring home a big win!!!

New York Islanders Travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to Take On the Metropolitan Division’s Carolina Hurricanes in the Second Game of a 3 Game Road Trip

Hello there, New York Islander fans! Your favorite sports reporter is coming to you live from PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the New York Islanders try to build their momentum from last night’s win over the Philadelphia Flyers 6-1 at the Wells Fargo Center. The Islanders come into tonight’s action with a record of 4-4-1, which puts them in 6thplace in the Metropolitan division for the moment. On the other hand, the Carolina Hurricanes are in 2ndplace for the division with a record of 6-3-1 and 13 points over 10 games. Coming into tonight’s action, the Islanders have found what looks to be their #1 goaltender in Robin Lehner. Robin Lehner comes in with a record of 3-2. On the offensive side for the New York Islanders, Anders Lee is coming off a 4 point game last night with a goal and 3 assists in last night’s 6-1 demolition of the Flyers.

Now let’s talk about The Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are one of the surprise teams in the NHL, getting off to a hot start this season. The Hurricanes are one of the youngest teams in the NHL, along with the Islanders, with an average age of 21 to 27.  A new coach and former Stanley Cup champion with Carolina in 2006, Rod Brind’Amour, looks to lead this up and coming team to the playoffs. I believe that both the Islanders and the Hurricanes have a bright future ahead of them with young stars such as Justin Faulk and Sebastian Aho for the Hurricanes and Matt Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier for the Islanders. The goaltending matchup for tonight’s game in North Carolina is Thomas Greiss for the Islanders vs. Scott Darling for the Hurricanes, though Darling has not yet been confirmed. I wouldn’t be surprised if the young kids come through again and lead the Islanders to a second win. Hopefully the Islanders can come away with another win on this 3 game road trip to close out the month of October. You can catch all of tonight’s action starting at 4:30pm with New York Islanders game night leading up to the Isles game at 5pm on MSG+.

AL Wild Card Game Preview

Hello there, New York Yankees fans! Your favorite sports reporter is back, coming to you from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, where the New York Yankees and the Oakland Athletics get set to battle it out on Wednesday for the right to go to the ALDS to face the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees have had a phenomenal regular season, as well as the Oakland As. The Yankees record this regular season as of today is 100-61. The As are at 97 and 64. I have a couple of key players you should keep your eye on during Wednesday’s win-or-go-home game. For the Yankees, it’s Giancarlo Stanton, and for the Athletics it’s Khris Davis. Stanton has 38 home runs and 100 RBIs, while on the other side, Khris Davis has 48 home runs and 123 RBIs. Now let’s dive into the pitching aspect of this. I forecast an unpredicted pitching matchup of J. A. Happ (ERA 3.65), whose record is 7 and 0 since being acquired from the Toronto Bluejays and Mike Fiers for the As, whose record is 12 and 8 this season with an ERA of 3.56. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is an unlikely hero for both teams on Wednesday night such as Luke Voit for the Yankees, who has 13 home runs since coming over from St. Louis, and Matt Chapman for the As, who has 24 home runs. All I know is that the House that Ruth built will be rocking on Wednesday night. I’m predicting a Yankee win. Let’s go Yankees! You can catch the Yankees vs. As game on TBS at 8:05pm Wednesday night.

Islanders 2018 Off-Season News and Moves

Hello New York Islanders fans! I am coming to you live from hockey headquarters in New York City, where the New York Islanders have made some interesting moves during this offseason. They hired their new coach Barry Trotz and drafted Oliver Wahlstrom with the eleventh pick in the first round of the 2018 draft. Oliver Wahlstrom is highly known for his YouTube channel featuring hockey tricks and his offensive prowess. The Islanders had back-to-back picks in the first round of this year's draft and for the twelfth pick chose Canadian Noah Dobson. Noah Dobson is highly regarded as one of, if not the best, defenseman in this year's draft.

On a more serious note, their captain John Tavares is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. There are several teams involved in the John Tavares sweepstakes... the Islanders, of course, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Sharks, the Stars, the Bruins, and the Maple Leafs to name a few.

Over the past couple of seasons, the Islanders have called the Barclays Center home, but a new arena for the Isles is currently under construction in Belmont Park. The renovation was approved last year. For many years  (as long as I've been alive), they have played their home games at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and many fans turned out to rock the barn on Long Island like I did.  Unfortunately, the Islanders have been stuck in Brooklyn for these past few seasons. However, this upcoming season, a select 8 home games will be at the Coliseum. I remember when the Coliseum crowd would go crazy- it's a shame they had to take it all away when they moved to Brooklyn. But luckily, in 2021, the Islanders will be back on the island for good.

Well, that's all for now. Sorry it's been long! I'm back! I'll be keeping you up to date on the latest Islander developments. I'll be gone for two weeks. Hopefully, we'll have a decision on John Tavares when I get back on July 12. Let's go Islander fans! Bring Tavares back home!
