New York Knicks take on Dwight Howard and the Atlanta Hawks

Merry Christmas New York Knicks' fans,

I am coming to you live from the world's most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks get set for an Eastern Conference showdown with Dwight Howard and the Atlanta Hawks. The Knicks come into tonight's action as the 5th seed in the conference with a 16-14 record. The Knicks are trying to bounce back from their loss against the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day. New York has been sharing the ball poorly these last 5 games, ranking 27th in the league in assists over that time period. This must be a top priority for Jeff Hornacek because New York is not creating open shots which provide better scoring opportunities. Hopefully the Knicks will have better ball movement in tomorrow's game. One vital match-up that we should keep a close eye on is Derrick Rose vs. Dennis Schroder. The 2 point guards are evenly matched over the last 5 games; Schroder has been averaging 19.8 points per game while Rose has been averaging 19 points per game during that same span. The disparity between the 2 appears in the assist category. Rose has been averaging 2.8 assists per game while his counterpart has been averaging 6 per game. As a point guard he needs to distribute the ball more to get his teammates more involved. Both teams are also evenly matched when it come to the power forward position. It'll be interesting to see who can get the upper hand tonight when it comes to scoring because Porzingis is averaging 17 points per game over the last 5 games; trailing Millsap by only 2 points per game. Despite trailing Millsap in the scoring department, Porzingis has been putting in the effort on the defensive end, lately averaging 1.8 blocks per game. Let's hope the Knicks can pull one out tonight to keep moving up the Eastern Conference standings and keep Atlanta at bay. You can catch all of tonight's heart-pounding action tonight at 7:30 EST on MSG. Let's go Knicks!

New York Islanders hockey is back

Hello there New York Islander fans!

I am coming to you live from MSG where the New York Islanders open the 2016-2017 season against their rival the New York Rangers. Both of these teams are looking to build off strong showings last year. During the off-season the Islanders made some interesting moves in free agency by acquiring Jason Chimera and Andrew Ladd. These 2 new faces on the Islanders roster look to bring Stanley Cup experience to the up and coming playoff hopeful. Tonight's game will be a measuring stick for how far this team can go this season. What a better way to kick off the 2016-2017, than a game against your rival? The Rangers are trying to bounce back from a disappointing sweep by the Pittsburgh Penguins. They made some off-season moves themselves signing former New York Islander Michael Grabner to a 2-year deal as well as trading away Derick Brassard for Mika Zibanejad. Hopefully both of these teams will have successful years and make it to the Stanley Cup playoffs. I will be a fun match-up to watch tonight. For all you Islander fans, tune in and root for all our boys on MSGPlus2 @ 7:00 EST.
Bring home a win! This has been Mr. Lightning reporting live from MSG, thanks for reading.

Yankees open up a crucial 3 game set against the Baltimore Orioles

Hello NewYork Yankees fans!

I am coming to you live from Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland where the New York Yankees continue their late season surge to clinch a playoff birth. Coming into tonight's action, the Yankees, currently sit  2.5 games out of the second Wild Card spot. Over the past couple games the Yankees bats have been coming alive, scoring key runs in important situations. Who would've thought that on September 2nd, the Yankees would still be alive in the playoff hunt. The young guns that the Yankees have called up from the minor leagues have provided a spark and enthusiasm. Hopefully the Yanks can keep their momentum rolling into tonight's game. This series is vital because it gives the Yankees a chance to narrow the gap between themselves and the Orioles, who currently hold the second Wild Card spot. Taking the hill for the Yankees is Chad Green. He is going up against Dylan Bundy. Hopefully Chad can deliver a strong pitching performance in what is arguably the biggest game of his career. You can bet that all the Yankee fans will be fired up for this one. I know I am. This has been Mr. Lightening reporting from Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland. Thanks for reading. Let's go Yankees! Bring home a big win!

P.S. You can catch the game tonight on the YES Network at 7:05 EST

Yankees push for a playoff spot

Hello there Yankee fans!

I am coming to you live from Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri where the New York Yankees are battling the Kansas City Royals for one of the two wild card spots. The Yanks currently sit three and a half games back of the Baltimore Orioles. They put up a fight last night but fell just short of winning. Tonight, the Yankees look to rebound and tie up the series at one game a piece. They are looking for a good pitching performance from Masahiro Tanaka while the Royals will counter with Edison Volquez. Hopefully Tanaka will have a strong showing proving to be the ace of the Yankees' pitching staff. Furthermore I believe the Yankees' offense will come to play tonight in a big way. Well that is all for now, reporting live from Kansas City, Missouri, this has been Mr. Lightening. Thanks for reading. Let's Go Yankees!

P.S. You can catch the game on the YES Network at 8:15 pm EST

A-Rod's Final Game as a New York Yankee

Hello there, New York Yankees' fans,

I am coming to you live from Yankee Stadium where the New York Yankees open a 3 game set against Evan Longoria and the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yanks are coming into tonight's game after a win against the Boston Red Sox. They find themselves three and a half games out of the second wild card spot. With this late surge, the Yankees are giving their fans a reason to believe they can still make the postseason. This comes after the departures of big superstars, such as Andrew Miller and Carlos Beltran. Another looming departure is the retirement of the 14-time All-Star, Alex Rodriguez. Over the past couple days there has been tension between Yankee manager Joe Girardi and A-Rod concerning the slugger's playing time. It was first reported on August 7 that Alex would be released after tonight's game and serve as special team advisor. Hopefully, tonight's game will send Alex off with a bang. Well, that's all for now. Reporting live from Yankee Stadium, this has been Mr. Lightning. Thanks for reading. Let's go Yankees!

P.S. You can catch tonight's game at 7:00 EST on The YES Network

Yankees looking to go above 0.500

Hello there New York Yankees fans!

I am coming to you live from the Bronx, New York where the Yankees get set to take on the Baltimore Orioles in game 2 of their 4 game set. The Yanks are coming off a 2-1 victory and are looking to build momentum going into the second half of the season. They are currently at 46-46 and sit 5 games back in the wild card standings. With the trade deadline a few weeks away, this current home-stand will be crucial in determining whether the Yanks plan to be buyers or sellers. Defeating the AL East leading Orioles would keep playoff dreams alive for Yankees' fans. It would show that the Yanks are still capable of competing with the best teams in the MLB. I am really looking forward to see what the Yankees can accomplish with a good starting rotation and an even greater bullpen. The back-end of the Yankees bullpen consisting of Dellin Betances, Andrew Miller, and Aroldis Chapman are unstoppable when they get the ball handed to them. That's why they're called No Runs DMC. Hopefully the Yankees can pick up another win tonight. You can catch tonight's game on YES at 7 pm EST. Let's go Yankees!

I am coming to you live from the Bronx, NY where the New York Yankees return home after a long road trip. On their ten game road stand the Yankees went 4-6. They are looking to get back to 0.500 during this current home stand. With sub-0.500 teams coming into the Bronx, the Yankees really need to take advantage, otherwise this season will be a lost cause. Hopefully the Yankees will get a boost from their home crowd in tonight's game vs. the Anaheim Angels. The Yankees won last night and are trying to make it back-to-back wins to get their homecoming off on the right foot. You can catch the game tonight at 7 pm EST on Pix 11, with Michael Kay, Paul O'Neil, and Al Leiter on the call. Let's go Yankees!! Bring home another win!

Sharks try to even their series with the Pens at 1 game a piece

Hello there Hockey Fans,

I am coming to you live from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, site of tonight's game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The San Jose Sharks come into tonight's game after a heartbreaking loss in game 1 and look to bounce back and tie the series. I believe the momentum will shift to the Sharks tonight because of great goal-tending by Martin Jones, who managed 38 saves in the game 1 loss. Not only will Jones come up big tonight, San Jose's defense will shut down Sidney Crosby and crew. Ultimately San Jose should prevail and steal home ice from under the Penguins' beaks. With the win tonight The Sharks will smell blood in the water and confidently ride back home to San Jose.

Prediction: San Jose Sharks def. Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2

Well that is all for now reporting live from Pittsburgh, PA this has been Mr. Hockey. Thanks for reading!

P.S. You can catch the game on NBC tonight at 8 pm Eastern time.  Let's go sharks!

Rematch: Curry vs. LeBron Round 2

Hello there basketball fans,

I'm coming to you live from Oracle Arena, where the Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry get set to go for two straight NBA Championships. Thursday night they will face a familiar foe in LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors are going into the championship round fresh off a dramatic comeback over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Their critics, including myself, had the Golden State Warriors falling to the Thunder after they took a 3-1 series deficit. The Warriors never gave up on themselves and clinched the Western Conference Championship in 7 games. I believe that this match-up will be one for the ages, with a fully healthy Cleveland team. My prediction for this series unfortunately will not go in LeBron's favor. I see Steph Curry and Golden State winning in 6 games, making them back-to-back champions. Well that is all for now.

This has been Mr. Basketball. Thanks for reading! You can catch the series on ABC. Game 1 is scheduled for Thursday at 9 pm eastern time. Let's go Warriors!

The Cleveland Cavs try to take momentum back on their home floor

Hello There Basketball Fanatics!  I am coming to you live the Quicken Loans Arena, where Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers look to gain their momentum back in front of their home crowd. It was a rough go of it up north in the Air Canada Center; where the Toronto Raptors with their home crowd behind them evened up the NBA Eastern Conference Finals at 2 games apiece. I expect Cleveland to come out with a lot of energy and intensity. I believe that Cleveland will win tonight, getting one step closer to Lebron James' ultimate goal for Cleveland; which is win a championship for his home fans. I think Lebron will score 25 points, have 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.; while Kyrie Irving will have 27 points, 8 assists, and 2 rebounds. The Cavs ultimately winning a score of 105-100. At least that is my prediction. Don't get me wrong, I think Toronto will put up a fight but it will all be too little too late in the end. Well, that is all for now. Reporting live from Quicken Loans Arena, this has been Mr. Basketball, thanks for reading.

New York Yankees Looking To Get to 500

Hello New York Yankees Fans! I am coming to you live from Yankees stadium in the Bronx, NY. Where the Yankees are looking to extend their winning streak to 6 games in a row and also get to .500 . The Yankees are coming into tonight's game off a very impressive sweep of the Oakland A's. Tonight they begin a 3 game set with the Toronto Blue Jays. I have no doubt that Toronto's big bats will come into play tonight, including Encarnacion and Bautista.Hopefully, the Yankees can match their power and get seven innings out of their starter Nathan Eovaldi. Hopefully, Beltran can continue his hot hitting, especially for me because I have him on my fantasy team; along with Texeira and Gregorious. I think the Yankees will come out on top tonight by a score of 5-3. At least that is my prediction anyway and they can hand it off to their bullpen: Betances, Miller and Mr. Gas Chapman. Lets Go Yankees!!!! You can catch the game tonight at 7pm on YES, with Michael Kay, Paul O'Neill, and David Cone on the call, along with Merideth down on the field.Well, that's all for now. Who Will Grab the Game 5 Momentum Tonight, Tampa or Pittsburgh?

Hello hockey fans! I am coming to you live from Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Tampa Bay Lightning are in the middle of a gigantic game of tug-o-war with the series tied at two games apiece. Both teams are looking to grab the momentum and get one win away from the Stanley Cup Final. There will be plenty of superstars on display tonight such as Sidney Crosby and Jonathan Drouin. In the last game, Tampa Bay was able to squeak out a win tying the series at two. The goal tending matchup is Marc-Andre Fleury for the Penguins vs. Andrei Vasilevskiy for the Lightning. I believe that Pittsburgh will take Game 5 by a score of 3 to 2 with Sidney Crosby scoring the game winner. That’s my game prediction anyway. We’re going to have to wait and see if it comes true. That is all for now. Reporting live from Pittsburgh, this has been Mr. Hockey. I’m signing off for now until we meet again, NHL fans! Let’s go Pens! PS: You can catch all of tonight’s heart pounding action on channel 212 at 8:00pm.

The New York Knicks have their new Head Man

Hello there New York Knicks fans! I am coming to you live from Madison Square Garden, where the New York Knicks have their new head coach in Jeff Hornacek. The Knicks front office is going into free agency this summer looking to pick up some key assets such as Mike Conley, Kevin Durant, and many others to play alongside Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks first priority however was to decide who would be their next head coach after firing Derek Fisher and having Kurt Rambus coach the remainder of last season. Jeff Hornacek's coaching career includes coaching the Pheonix Suns from 2012-2015 with a record of 102-111. Jeff Hornacek does not the triangle offense, which means Phil Jackson, aka the Zen Master, could be on his way out of New York and back to L.A. Hopefully this will inspire a new look Knicks to get back in playoff contention next season. Until then we are just going to hope and pray. That is all for now. This has been Mr. Lightening reporting live from Madison Square Garden. Thanks for reading. Let's go Knicks!

Who Will Win Game 7?

Hello there NBA fans! I am coming to you live from the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario, where the Miami Heat and the Toronto Raptors square off in a win or go home game 7 to determine who will face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat are coming off a thrilling do or die win in Game 6 where Dwayne Wade is coming off of a 22 point outing to force a Game 7. Last game, Dwayne Wade also had some help from Goran Dragic who had 30 points in the Game 6 win. I expect a hard fought game today with lots of great defense and magnificent passing. I will even give you a prediction. I think Miami will win by five. My score would be 95-90 behind 25 points from Dwayne Wade. Don’t get me wrong; DeMar DeRozan will have a heck of a game, scoring 20 points with 7 assists and 8 rebounds. But I think Miami’s experience will overcome all the odds. You can catch the game today at 3:30pm on ABC with Mike Breen and Mark Jackson on the call.  This has been Mr. Money reporting live from Toronto, Canada. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoy the game. Let's go Heat!
