Yankees Try to Wake Up The Bats and Even Up Their Series With Oakland

Hi everyone I hope you are all doing well. I’m coming to you with Bobby from the pond at Eisenhower park on this beautiful but humid Wednesday. This will probably be my last blog until I come back from a little R&R at summer camp.

As many Yankee fans know, the yanks have had a roller coaster of a season so far. They took a significant nosedive last night and may have regressed offensively. Jhony Brito dealt a high quality start but the bats didn’t come along for the ride. The only offensive scoring was produced, ironically, by Josh Donaldson. Coming off his recent IL stint, Donaldson is sporting a .132 avg and was the only player to manufacture a run for the bombers last night. Even though Anthony Volpe had a good game last night going 3/4, his offensive production has a lot of room for improvement.  Volpe seems trapped in his own head and is trying to unlock his own potential. Last night’s performance may be the key that he has been looking for to solidify himself as the Yankee shortstop of the future.

Domingo German takes the hill once again tonight. This reporter is ever hopeful that he can find his mojo and put his early seasons bad starts in the rearview mirror. Hopefully the Yankee bats can follow close behind Domingo and seal the deal against the worst bullpen in the league.

The Yankees big money off season acquisition, Carlos Rodon, is reportedly going to make his pinstripe debut in early July. That should fortify the starting rotation and take a major weight from the shoulders of Gerrit Cole. The team is ever hopeful that Aaron Judge will return but my prediction sits at 50/50 for a return this season.

Hopefully the Yankees can have a party out in Oakland tonight to even the series. With a day game tomorrow, a rubber match would be preferred over a game to prevent the A’s bringing out the brooms.

I hope everyone enjoys the game tonight. This has been Mr. Yankee! GO YANKS!

Yankees Try to Get Back in the Win Column After the Beat Down by the Sox

Yankees Try to Get Back in the Win Column After the Beat Down by the Sox

Hey everyone, me and Bobby coming to you live from seaman’s neck park on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. I’ve got the latest on your favorite ny baseball team, the Yankees. I also want to wish a happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there, especially my own who I love very much.

Unfortunately, the Yankees got hammered in the first of three to start their series in Boston. Domingo German did not fare too well this time around against the northern rivals. In his last start against the Sox he pitched a 6 inning gem, allowing one earned run in a victory. The Red Sox hitters must have adjusted after German’s last start because his pitches were looking like beach balls last night. Justin turner set the tone early and took advantage of German not dealing his grade A pitches. The Yankees pitching staff had no answer for turners power punches.

The Yankees are looking to stop the bleeding tomorrow, hoping the bats come alive and protect Schmidt on the mound. Clarke needs to go 6 innings with 2 or fewer earned runs to take pressure off the bullpen.  He will be toeing the slab in game 1 of a day-night double header starting at 1:35pm tomorrow. Regardless, the yanks need to avoid a sweep to stay within striking distance in the AL East.

Yankees injuries have a bunch of major play-makers on the IL which is clearly affecting team performance. Reinforcements will be on the way shortly as the light at the end of the tunnel approaches. Carlos Rodon is set to make a rehab start in the next few days. A successful return soon would stabilize the starting rotation and take weight off the bullpens shoulders. Harrison Bader's contact bat and outstanding center field play will create a spark in the dugout and on the field. The biggest question facing not only me, but all of Yankees kingdom, is the timetable for the return of the Yankees’ most prominent hitter. The team has been missing their captain and it shows in the loss column. Unfortunately, Judge received a second PRP shot in his foot to relieve nagging toe inflammation. Hopefully the Yankees can fend off the concept that winning without judge is like climbing Mount Everest. We’ll see tomorrow if they can take baby steps and avoid another blowout.

You can catch the game tomorrow at 1:35pm followed by the night game at 7:10pm. Bring the big boy bats to Fenway!

Yankees VS Mets Game 2

Yankees Try to Sweep First Iteration of Subway Series

Hello NY baseball fans, I am coming to you from the Nautical Mile to bring you the latest info on The Big Apple baseball franchises. Heading into tonight’s matchup the Mets and Yankees have not lived up to their preseason expectations. Last season saw the Mets close the season at 101 wins and adding Justin Verlander. The Yankees found themselves heartbroken once again at the hands of the Astros last season. With high expectations for both clubs, one would think improvements would show in the win column at this point in the season. Unfortunately Lindor’s play hasn’t reflected the back of his baseball card especially given his mega-contract. Verlander had World Series aspirations joining the Flushing Club and reuniting with his old teammate Mad Max. The Mets rotation hasn’t fully strutted their stuff this season due to injuries and a Scherzer suspension.

In the northern borough, Yankees superstars have had a shaky first third of the season. With the exception of Cole who totes a 7-1 record, Nestor and Severino have been underwhelming to say the least. Rizzo’s hot start at the plate helped the lineup settle in early, but after a collision with Tatis Jr neck issues have nagged the lefty first baseman. Volpe was raised from the minors as the Number 1 Yankees prospect this past offseason. The hometown kid finally got his shot but hasn’t been hitting the cover of the ball as most experts had expected. With a batting average under the Mendoza line, the glove flashing shortstop is hoping that his batting begins to reflect exceptional play in the field. Rumors surrounding a trip back to the minors have been floating for Volpe, but as a rookie some more time in the Bronx is necessary for his development.  Anthony isn’t a genie in a bottle, and fans’ wishes of a Jeter-level shortstop will not be granted immediately.

But getting back to the game at hand, tonight let’s look at the pitching matchup. The Mets’ aging hired gun Verlander faces Cole Train tonight in Queens for a season defining game to end the series. The broadcast takes the national stage tonight on ESPN at 7, so all eyes will be on the former Cy Young winners. This has been MrBaseball, thanks for reading. Hope you stay well and god bless you! PEACE OUT!

Preview of game three of the NBA finals tonight

Hello everyone your favorite sports reporter is back bringing you the latest information from the 2023 NBA Finals where the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat are tied at one game apiece with this series shifting to Miami. Coming off of a dramatic Game 2 victory on Sunday night the Miami Heat will look to build momentum when the series shifts to South Beach. Miami has been one of the most resilient teams this NBA playoff season when you think they are done they somehow always take their games to the next level! Whether it is Jimmy Butler or the big man in the middle Bam Bam they never go out without a fight. Jimmy Buckets averages 21.2 PPG in the playoffs but has more playoff experience than the entire Denver team.  Denver on the other side of the ball will have to depend on their team defense in order to steal back home court advantage. I believe with momentum on their side Miami with their home crowd behind them will manage to steal this game. But I would not count out the Denver Nuggets as of yet, they have a superstar in the making Nikola Jokic who can steal a game by himself.  Nikola has averaged 27.5 PPG in the playoffs over the course of his career, so it will be interesting to see who comes out victorious tonight. You can catch all of the action on channel ABC tonight starting at 8:30 PM. I hope you'll be watching I know I will thanks for reading this has been Mr. basketball hope you enjoy the game and May God bless you all
