Good morning New York Islander fans. This is your
favorite sports reporter bringing you a preview on tonight’s matchup between
Metropolitan Division rivals in the New York Islanders versus New Jersey
Devils. Coming into tonight’s action the New York Islanders are trying to
bounce back after a disappointing game versus the Buffalo Sabers in the last
contest, coming up short in a shootout over the Sabers on Saturday afternoon. However,
the New York Islanders are still sitting in 3rd place in the
Metropolitan Division with a record of 19 wins, 13 losses and four overtime
losses for a grand total of 42 points. The New Jersey Devils have a record of
20 victories, 15 defeats in three overtime defeats which puts them in 5th
place in the Metropolitan division with a total of 41 points. Tonight’s game is
very crucial for both teams. Now let’s look at some key players to watch on
both sides of the ice. For the New York Islanders I will pick Matthew Barzal
and Matthew Schaefer. On the other side of the ice, with the return of Jack
Hughes into the lineup yesterday, I will pick him and his brother Luke Hughes.
Jack has been out for about 4 weeks with a finger issue that he sustained
during the thanksgiving holiday. I am really looking forward to see which team
will come out on top tonight and which style of play will ultimately earn their
team a big two points in the Metropolitan division standings. I will be working
the game tonight. Come and find me at the bottom of the Great Hall steps. Enjoy
the game tonight. You can catch all the action with my friends Brandon Burke
and Shannon Hogan on the call beginning at 7:00 PM on MSG +. Happy holidays

The New York Islanders take on the Avalanche tonight live from UBS Arena
Good morning New York Islander fans, this is your
favorite sports reporter bringing you a preview of New York Islanders vs Colorado
Avalanche game tonight from UBS Arena in Elmont, NY. Coming into this evening’s
action, the New York Islanders are coming off of a win in their previous game
on Tuesday night over the Tampa Bay Lightning. They will look to build off
their momentum when they take on their former teammate in Brock Nelson and
Colorado Avalanche, it is the first time back at UBS Arena for Brock Nelson
since the New York Islanders traded Brock to Colorado during last year’s NHL
trade deadline. Nelson who was a New York Islander for the first 10 ½ years of
his career, I believe he will get a standing ovation tonight, along with a
video tribute. It will be interesting to see how the home crowd receives him
tonight. Now to the action on the ice, some key matchups that I will be looking
forward to in tonight’s action include Matthew Schaefer versus Cale Makar and
Anders Lee versus Marty Necas. The Islanders will need to have one of their
better defensive performances of the year if they want to control the Colorado
Avalanche dynamic offense. I will be working the game so come work for me at
the bottom of the Great Hall steps. You can catch all the actio
n beginning
